The New 2022 Honda Odyssey

Powered by a V6 engine producing 262 pound-feet of torque and 280 horsepower, the New 2022 Honda Odyssey is a reliable and comfortable choice for a minivan. It comes with an automatic transmission and has excellent safety features, including airbags, child safety locks, and traction control.

The cabin is spacious and can accommodate up to eight people, with plenty of storage space for luggage. The build quality is top-notch, with high-quality materials used in the interior and exterior.

Most trim levels also boast the Magic Slide seat technology, allowing you to move the seats in any direction to create the most comfortable layout. Let’s look at the new 2022 Honda Odyssey and its different trim levels.

The New 2022 Honda Odyssey

The New 2022 Honda Odyssey excels in many regards, including infotainment, safety, and comfort. It’s one of the most reliable minivans on the market, with a built-in entertainment system, automatic emergency braking, and forward-collision warning.

In 2021, Honda refreshed the interior and exterior of the Honda Odyssey to make it more appealing. The company also gave a flat-folding capacity to the second-row seats.

The 2022 model does not have many notable changes compared to its predecessor. However, Honda has discontinued the in-cabin vacuum, which was a part of the previous models.

2022 Honda Odyssey Trim Levels

The New 2022 Honda Odyssey has five trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. All these trim levels have distinguishing features, with LX being the cheapest and Elite the most high-end.

LX

The LX is the basic, entry-level trim for the New 2022 Honda Odyssey. It comes standard with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque. The LX also has a 9-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel drive, and Active noise control.

Like all other trims, it has the Honda Sensing Safety and Driver Assistive Technologies. In addition, it is a suite of safety features that includes a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Road Departure Mitigation System.

The LX has a 5-inch color LCD touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB port. It also has a 160-Watt Audio System with 7 Speakers, Including Subwoofer.

Standout Features:

  • Speed-Sensitive Volume Compensation (SVC): The SVC automatically adjusts the audio system’s volume level based on the vehicle’s speed.
  • Driver’s Seat with 8-Way Power Adjustment: With this feature, the driver can adjust the seat for optimum comfort. The feature is unavailable in other trims.

EX

The 2022 Honda Odyssey EX features heated front seats, Magic Slide second-row seats, Apple CarPlay integration, Android Auto integration, and a Honda Sensing suite of driver-assistive technologies.

For infotainment and entertainment, the trim has an audio system, radio data system, auxiliary input jack, a USB charging port, and Speed-Sensitive Volume Compensation.

All seats in the trim have head restraints. Meanwhile, it also features a driver’s seat with a 12-way power adjustment, including 4-way power lumbar support.

Standout Features:

  • Programmable Remote Entry: It allows you to lock, unlock, and start the car without taking the key fob out of your pocket.
  • Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock: The feature automatically locks the car once you walk away from it, as long as you have the key fob with you.

EX-L

Like other trims, the EX-L also features Honda Sensing Safety technologies, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, heated front seats, and Magic Slide second-row seats. However, it doesn’t have the CabinWatch® / CabinTalk that is present in the Elite and Touring trims.

Moreover, the EX-L has a 10-Speed Automatic Transmission (10AT) (City/Highway/Combined) with a horsepower of 280 @ 6000 rpm.

Standout Features:

  • CabinControl Remote Compatibility: It lets drivers and front passengers control the audio, temperature, and connectivity settings.
  • Passenger-Side Walk-In: This feature allows easy access to the third row, especially for children and the elderly.

Touring

The 2022 Honda Odyssey Touring is considerably more expensive than the base trim due to its high-end features, such as a 10-speed automatic transmission, LED headlights, and a hands-free power tailgate.

Plus, it has leather-trimmed heated front seats for ultimate convenience. The infotainment features are the same as in the EX-L trim.

Standout Features:

  • Parking Sensors: The Touring trim has front and rear parking sensors that make parking a breeze.
  • Electric Parking Brake with Automatic Brake Hold: The electric parking brake is a nice touch that keeps the car stationary on an incline. The automatic brake hold feature is great for stop-and-go traffic.

Elite

Being the most expensive 2022 Honda Odyssey Trim, the Elite features a Honda Sensing Suite, a package of advanced safety features. It also has Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Monitor, LED fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, and a power tailgate.

There are second-row captain’s chairs with heating and ventilation options for the cabin. Moreover, the trim supports Active Noise Cancellation, Hill Start Assist, and Active Control Engine Mount System.

Standout Features:

  • Active Control Engine Mount System: The ACM system helps reduce NVH by managing engine vibration. Thus, it ensures a quiet and smooth ride.
  • Hill Start Assist: This system prevents your vehicle from rolling backward when you’re stopped on an incline. It also allows you to move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator without holding the vehicle.
